Knowledge Base: End-of-life for Dash
Dearest Dash users,
Due to the recent acquisition of FiveRuns by Workthink, we are taking Dash offline permanently. The Dash web application, the collector service that clients upload data to, and the read API will go away. On October 2nd, the support chatroom will close. On October 16th, the web application and API will shut down.
If you have data you would like to export from Dash, we can extract it for you and send it along. Please send data requests to support@fiveruns.com.
You'll want to remove any Dash-related code you may have in your app before this date. This includes:
- dash-activerecord
- dash-datamapper
- dash-django
- dash-java
- dash-merb
- dash-python
- dash-rails
- dash-ruby
- dash-sensor
- dash-sinatra
Please note that this does not affect the availability of the Dash clients and plugins released as open source.
We will set up a "fake" Dash service so that any uploads are silently discarded. This will prevent your app processes from thinking Dash is down and logging an exception once a minute. However, we cannot guarantee how long this service will run. We strongly recommend you remove all Dash-related code as soon as you can.
We're sad to see Dash fade into the night. The whole team at FiveRuns put their emotion and energies into it. We hope you enjoyed using it.
